On the last Friday of every month, the city of Greensboro offers parents an easy outing for kids. Drop them off at Griffin Recreation Center, where they can play games, do crafts, eat dinner, and watch a movie so you can go enjoy three hours for yourself. Community Food Distribution @ Four Seasons Town Center
9 a.m.
On Saturday morning, a free food drive will take place at the mall. The drive, hosted by Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, starts at 9 a.m. The line may take hours to get through, so patience is appreciated. According to Second Harvest, no documentation is needed, but attendees will be asked to provide basic information to determine USDA eligibility for some of the offered food items. Learn more here.

It’s A Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s a Potential Game Changer: JetZero, A next-generation jet manufacturer based in California, is considering Piedmont Triad International Airport for a new manufacturing operation that could bring more than 10,000 new jobs to the Triad, according to the Triad Business Journal. The company has not confirmed whether Greensboro, or any other North Carolina city, is on its list of potential sites.
Stocking Up: Publix did better than promised on job creation and capital investment jobs at its east Greensboro distribution and refrigerated warehouse campus, according to a N.C. Commerce Department report. The News & Record has the story.
Not So Fast: On Tuesday, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily blocked state election officials from contacting voters to correct their ballots in the N.C. Supreme Court race between Judge Jefferson Griffin and Justice Allison Riggs. The three-judge panel voted 2-1 to halt the “ballot curing” process. The News & Record has the story.
