Let local chefs and bakers handle Thanksgiving dinner and dessert. It’s not too late to order from these culinary creatives in Cary and Apex.
Full Thanksgiving Meals To-Go
Lawrence Barbecue: Outsource the traditional Thanksgiving meal centerpiece and serve up smoked meats–a whole brisket, turkey breast and gravy, or pork butt–that serve 10-12 people from the Downtown Cary ‘cue spot. They also offer droolworthy sides, like Granny Helen’s sweet potato casserole, and desserts, including a cookie butter cheesecake. No deadline, but they may sell out. Pickup times, chosen while ordering, will be November 25 and 26.
Donovan’s Dish: A traditional full Thanksgiving dinner for six people, or for one, is available for preorder by noon this Thursday. Besides the turkey, there’s housemade cranberry sauce, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, and sage gravy. Additional Southern-style sides or appetizers are available, too. While the local caterer has markets in Apex and Cary, pickup will be at the Cary location only, 107 Edinburgh S Drive, Suite 131, November 25 or 26.
Pies, Baked Goods and more for Thanksgiving
Utica Bakery: For planners and impromptu deciders alike, the Italian- and European-style bakery that sells from an Apex food truck is a good bet. Utica is accepting pre-orders of whole cheesecakes and cookie boxes via social media messenger, including a spiced pumpkin cheesecake with browned butter crust and vanilla bean whipped cream. Or, show up 10 a.m.-3 p.m. next Wednesday, November 26, for first-come, first-served pastries. Find it: 430 Upchurch Street in Apex.
Asali Desserts Cafe: Full cheesecakes, pies, and tarts are available for pre-order at Asali, which specializes in Mediterranean desserts, including popular orders like baklava cheesecake (pictured above), kenafa cheesecake, and chocolate flan. There are gluten-free options for almond, pecan chocolate, and coconut raspberry tarts and pies, too. The last day to order is November 24 and the last day for pickup is November 26. Email info@asalidessertscafe.com or calling the bakery at 919-362-7882. Find it: 107 Edinburgh South Drive, Suite 106A, Cary.
