The Assembly is hiring a Sales Representative to manage advertising sales for its newsletter, print magazine, events and additional future projects.
This person will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners and advertisers across North Carolina, as well as with national brands and organizations.
The position will work closely with The Assembly’s director of product and growth to jumpstart a paid events strategy, bring in robust advertising revenue, and launch several new products with advertising behind them.
The ideal candidate is a go-getter and a creative thinker, comfortable with taking initiative, with business and social smarts. The position requires someone who is organized and can effectively manage relationships with clients. The job will require some travel across the state, as face-to-face meetings are an important aspect of this role.
- Build and Manage Client Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national advertisers and partners.
- Advertising Sales: Drive advertising sales by identifying opportunities, pitching advertising solutions, and closing deals.
- Event Strategy: Collaborate with the team to develop and execute a paid events strategy, ensuring events have robust advertising support.
- Revenue Growth: Consistently meet and exceed revenue targets through creative sales strategies and effective negotiation.
- New Product Launch: Play a vital role in launching new products, ensuring they have strong advertising backing.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and challenges.
- Previous experience in advertising sales or media sales is a plus.
- Familiarity with the North Carolina advertising landscape is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and events.
